Enigmatic Spanish percussionist Pedro Estevan doesn't only use conventional musical instruments to create his exciting rhythms he also strikes different parts of his own body to create a myriad of new sounds.
In this extraordinary virtuoso performance audiences will be treated to drums suspended on sea of cello strings in a piece by Luis de Pablo, the amazing thigh slapping and rhythmic pulsing of Corporel by Vinko Globokar and Estevan's Nocturno 1 for piano and magnetic tape. The final piece, Stockhausen's Zyklus, was the first major work written for solo percussion. This is a visual as well as a musical treat.
