Respectable Shoes is a piece of cutting edge contemporary music theatre about youth culture and identity, about grief and rock n' roll. The story is told through live music and song, integrated recordings by Triple J's anarchists Helen and Mikey's, rave sound samples, projected images and the talents of Marty Williams (Big Things Flying, SAMIA Best Male Vocalist Award 1995 & 1996), Mel Watson (Emerald Sun, winner of SAMIA Best Instrumentalist Award 1995 & 1996) and hot new vocal talent, 17 year old Heather Frahn (nominated for SAMIA Best Female Vocalist 1996).
